Fund-A-Need
Goal: $75,000

More Than Bleachers

$25,000

For generations, the Holy Spirit Gym has been a place where our school and parish community come together. It’s where our students and their families cheer from the bleachers during CYO sports, students learn and compete in P.E., and gather for school concerts and special events like the 8th-grade volleyball game & Kids’ Gala.l And for our parish community, the gym provides additional space for large gatherings like Carols by Candlelight, large funeral meals, and overflow Masses on Christmas, Easter, and other special occasions.

This year, a portion of the Fund-A-Need will help us replace the aging bleachers in our beloved Holy Spirit Gym and complete this important project in partnership with the Holy Spirit Athletic Association. HSAA has already worked hard to raise funds toward the new bleachers. We are asking our Holy Spirit community to help raise the remaining half of the project cost. Your generosity will build upon the investment already made by HSAA and help us bring this project across the finish line.

Your gift will help preserve and improve a space that belongs to all of us—and will continue to serve our students, families, and parish community for years to come. Help us fill the gym with new bleachers—and keep filling it with memories.

Investing in Those Who Invest in Our Kids

$50,000

At Holy Spirit, we believe that Catholic education is about forming the whole person—mind, heart, and spirit. And that begins with the people who walk alongside our children every day.

Our teachers are committed to growing in their craft, and many are required to complete professional development and continuing education to maintain their certifications. Too often, those opportunities can mean teachers paying for classes and conferences out of their own pockets.

This year, part of our Fund-A-Need will create an avenue for all of our teachers to pursue opportunities that support their continued growth—including classes, conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities that meet certification requirements and address areas of interest.

Maybe a teacher wants to learn new strategies for supporting struggling readers. Maybe another wants to explore new approaches to math, technology, classroom management, or meeting the needs of diverse learners. Whatever the area, we want to give our teachers the opportunity to learn, grow, and bring that knowledge back to their classrooms.

It’s a way for us to take care of the people who take care of our kids. And when we invest in our teachers, our students feel that investment, too.

We also want to create an opportunity for our entire school community to grow together in faith.

At the end of Lent, we will bring our students and staff together for a whole-school spiritual retreat—a day set aside to step away from the everyday routine, slow down, pray, reflect, and prepare our hearts for Easter. Through prayer, reflection, fellowship, and time together, our hope is that every member of our school community—students and staff alike—will have the opportunity to encounter Christ more deeply and remember what we are preparing our hearts to celebrate.

The majority of these funds will support teacher growth, providing opportunities for our teachers to attend classes, conferences, workshops, and other professional development experiences throughout the year. Of the $50,000 total, $3,000 will be dedicated to making the whole-school spiritual retreat possible for our students and staff.

Because Catholic education doesn't stop at the classroom door. We are called to nurture our teachers, form our students, and grow together as a community of faith. Your generosity will help us reach our goals—by caring for the people who care for our kids and creating meaningful opportunities for our entire school community to grow in faith.

When we invest in our teachers, we invest in our students. And when we grow together in faith, we strengthen the heart of Holy Spirit.
